A specific image is called to mind when you hear that tonight you'll be playing at "Jimmi's NASCAR Bar and Grille" We are here to tell you that image was not disappointed. Having never been, the band arrived early to check the place out. The patrons had obviously been there since morning, and certainly weren't there to hear the bands. The air was molasses thick with stale cigarette smoke and the stench of broken dreams. The "stage" was at the same altitude as the "pit," separated only by a battered run of duct tape barely securing frayed wires to the greasy floor. What had we gotten ourselves into? Undaunted, and remaining hopeful, we began to set up. We had faith that Franki, OC's queen of punk, had not misled us.

Lo and Behold, the place began to fill up. A steady stream of our people shuffled in, lining the walls and booths. We got the signal. As the band got ready to play, waiting just a little to long for the world-renowned Melvis to finish fiddling with his coif in the bleach-and urine saturated men's room, the crowd just looked at us. So we just looked back.

Finally the big guy came ambling out, pompadour intact, and we proceeded to rock and roll to one of the most pleasurable and interactive audiences ever.

We wrapped up, as we sometimes do, and went outside to dry off and await the rest of the show.

Next up: The Screws. Loud, tight and saturated with talented guitars and well-written pieces, the screws owned the place for the next forty minutes. My ears are still bleeding, and it is not at all unpleasant.

By the time Franki's Broken Toys made their way to the stage, you could hardly walk from the door to the bar. Keep your eye on these guys, they're on a rocket to fame. DonE Snell pumped out raunchy, crunchy, spine-tingling wails on his beautiful Gibson, to the steady powerful beat of Joey's drums and Shawn's thundering bass lines. Franki, a fiery ball of energy and attitude, painted picture-perfect vocals over the strident dirty canvass laid out by the toys. What a joy to watch!!

Seemingly impossible to follow, the Broken Toys broke down to a hushed crowd, and in came the Luxurious Adults.

Like a rabid madwoman, Texas Terri strutted, shook, spun, and bounced her way around the building, stopping only to face-to-face intimidate some of the meanest men in the world. Freddy Cannon peeled off beautiful melodic distortion to the pounding well-defined precision of Josh Taxson and Rick Trobman's grinding rhythm section. If you've never seen this band, get out there and do it now. (warning: they are not for the faint-of-heart)

The Graceland Mafia would like to thank those who came to see us, those who saw us without intending to, and those who intended to come see us and didn't. Strong kudos to the Screws, Franki's Broken Toys, and The Luxurious Adults for giving us something fun to do when we were done.

See you next month!

Thanks to all who made it to the show at Dukehead Studios Saturday night. We had fun getting up there, the show went nicely,  great crowd! Brass Knuckle Voodoo, in addition to  being gracious hosts, tore  it up on stage.  Frankie and U.F.B nearly brought the house down, as always.  Hellbound Hayride provided nonstop hillbilly spice, our hats are especially off to new member, Shakes. Good show, men. It is an honor to share a stage with you.
